Entanglement Phase Transition Induced by the Non-Hermitian Skin Effect

چکیده

Recent years have seen remarkable development in open quantum systems effectively described by non-Hermitian Hamiltonians. A unique feature of topological is the skin effect, anomalous localization an extensive number eigenstates driven nonreciprocal dissipation. Despite its significance for phases, relevance effect to entanglement and critical phenomena has remained unclear. Here, we find that induces a nonequilibrium phase transition dynamics. We show gives rise macroscopic flow particles suppresses propagation thermalization, leading area law entropy steady state. Moreover, reveal induced competition between unitary dynamics even without disorder or interactions. This accompanies criticality characterized nonunitary conformal field theory whose effective central charge extremely sensitive boundary conditions. also demonstrate it originates from exceptional point Hamiltonian concomitant scale invariance modes localized according power law. Furthermore, leads purification reduction von Neumann Markovian Lindblad master equation. Our work opens way control growth establishes fundamental understanding transitions far thermal equilibrium.

Phase transition of the dry friction between crystalline surfaces induced by normal load

A major source of energy dissipation and surface wear is the kinetic friction at the interfaces of sliding bodies. Traditionally, on a macroscopic scale, this undesirable effect is reduced with lubricating the surfaces by introducing oil into their interface. An interesting phenomenon, called superlubricity, has been reported on a nanometer scale where dry (without lubricant oil) fruition and w...

Non-equilibrium quantum phase transition via entanglement decoherence dynamics

We investigate the decoherence dynamics of continuous variable entanglement as the system-environment coupling strength varies from the weak-coupling to the strong-coupling regimes. Due to the existence of localized modes in the strong-coupling regime, the system cannot approach equilibrium with its environment, which induces a nonequilibrium quantum phase transition. We analytically solve the ...

Structure of trajectories of complex-matrix eigenvalues in the Hermitian-non-Hermitian transition.

The statistical properties of trajectories of eigenvalues of Gaussian complex matrices whose Hermitian condition is progressively broken are investigated. It is shown how the ordering on the real axis of the real eigenvalues is reflected in the structure of the trajectories and also in the final distribution of the eigenvalues in the complex plane.

Quantum phase transition in a pseudo-Hermitian Dicke model.

We show that a Dicke-type non-Hermitian Hamiltonian admits entirely real spectra by mapping it to the "dressed Dicke model" through a similarity transformation. We find a positive-definite metric in the Hilbert space of the non-Hermitian Hamiltonian so that the time evolution is unitary and allows a consistent quantum description. We then show that this non-Hermitian Hamiltonian describing nond...
